🌊 THEME:

From kihon to ki no nagare. With both weapons and empty handed we will study the changes in both quality of bodywork as well as the technical changes in footwork.

Kokyu. Whole body power. Essentially when we transfer power to another either with our body or through a weapon various key points come into play such as timing, distance and angle (maai). alignment, grounding, extension from and to center and follow through among others. This core issue of the generation of power in Aikido will be explored from various angles with both weapons and by extension, empty handed work.

🌊 LEWIS BIO:

Lewis Bernaldo de Quiros trained full time under the late Morihiro Saito Sensei (9th Dan) from 1986 until 1993 in the Iwama Dojo in Japan. Since returning from Japan he has taught Aikido on a full time basis and to date has conducted well over 300 international seminars.

He is the senior instructor and examiner on behalf of Hombu Dojo of a European network of Dojos (Traditional Aikido Europe) committed to developing, researching and transmitting the style of Aikido known as Takemusu Aikido, which was transmitted directly to Morihiro Saito Sensei from the Founder of Aikido Morihei Ueshiba during his more than 23 years as a direct student at the Founder ’s Dojo in Iwama Japan.

Lewis is the Technical Director of both Traditional Aikido Europe (TAE) and Takemusu Aikido Tradicional España (TATE) .

🌊 REQUIREMENTS:

The Seminar will take place via Zoom Meeting rooms.

If you havent used Zoom before the best thing is to download to your PC or Laptop.

All the training will be designed especially for solo home training.

Keep your weapons (Bokken + Jo) close by and ideally you would need a minimum of ca. 4m2 for the exercises.
